The Analogue 3D console was originally scheduled for release in 2024, then Q1 2025, and today, the company announced its $249.99 reimagining of the Nintendo 64 with 4K output and Bluetooth controller support is scheduled to ship “by July 2025.” The retro game system was announced at the start of last year, following other modernized remakes Analogue has produced for NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, and Game Boy fans, utilizing FPGA tech that the company says will make its system 100 percent compatible with N64 cartridges from any region.

Worse for Analogue is that just as this delay has been announced, the arms dealer’s Game Boy company ModRetro and its CEO Palmer Luckey posted a teaser for an N64 retro console to follow its first release, the Chromatic. Luckey told one person in a reply that it’s “Never too late to change your mind” about their Analogue 3D pre-order.

For its part, Analogue maintains its 100 percent refund policy on canceled pre-orders, and “We are working hard to get your 3D order in hands asap and appreciate your patience. If you have an open preorder, no action is needed.” It will also email buyers a week before the consoles ship to make sure their listed addresses are up to date.
